"5 Repetition Power Lifting"

Eade Fitness 24/7 in conjunction with Good Times of Olean is hosting a “5 Repetition Power Lifting” event on Sunday, April 7th

at GTO’s Event Center.

5 challenges, athletes can choose 1, 2, 3, 4 or all 5 components.

Athlete can perform 1 or 2 sets of each entered event.

Higher total of lifts is used for scoring/placing.

Athletes not required to perform 2 sets.

All repetitions must be completed within 45 seconds and athletes cannot let go of bars or rack barbells once lift begins.

  1. Bench Press scored by total weight benched for up to five repetitions.

    1. Weightlifting and powerlifting belts allowed

    2. Chalk provided

    3. No bench shirts of any kind

    4. Neoprene elbow sleeves allowed but 2-Ply elastic sleeves or double-ply cannot be used 

    5. Wrist wraps acceptable and recommended

    6. Feet must keep in contact with ground

    7. Glutes must stay in contact with bench

    8. Full lockout at top, judge will count out completed reps…..1, 2, 3, 4, 5

    9. Touch and go with chest, no hard “bounces”Hex Bar Dead lift scored by total weight deadlifted for up to five repetitions.

    1. Weightlifting and powerlifting belts allowed

    2. Chalk provided

    3. No deadlifting suits of any kind, shorts required to judge full lockout of knees

    4. Neoprene knee sleeves allowed but knee wraps, 2-Ply knee sleeves not accepted

    5. Hex Bar handles will be "down", putting the Hex Bar in a FULL deadlift position

    6. Wrist wraps acceptable

    7. Full lockout at top, knees locked, arms locked, shoulders back

    8. Judge will count out completed reps…..1, 2, 3, 4, 5

    9. Touch and go with floor, no “bouncing” off mats

  2. Straight Bar Deadlift scored by total weight lifted with up to five repetitions.

    1. Weightlifting and powerlifting belts recommended

    2. Chalk provided

    3. No deadlifting of any kind, shorts required to judge full lockout of knees

    4. Neoprene knee sleeves allowed but no knee wraps or 2-Ply knee sleeves

    5. Wrist wraps acceptable

    6. Full lockout at top, knees locked, arms locked, shoulders back

    7. Conventional and Sump style deadlifts allowed

    8. Judge will count out completed reps at top of lift…..1, 2, 3, 4, 5

    9. Touch and go with floor, no “bouncing” off mats

  3. 16” Box Squat scored by total weight lifted with up to five repetitions.

    1. Weightlifting and powerlifting belts recommended

    2. Chalk provided

    3. No squat suits of any kind, shorts required to judge full lockout of knees

    4. Neoprene knee sleeves allowed but knee wraps, 2-Ply knee sleeves not accepted

    5. Glutes must touch squat box, do not have to pause on squat box, touch and go

    6. Full lockout at top of knees

    7. Judge will count out completed reps at top of lift...…..1, 2, 3, 4, 5

    8. No “bouncing” butt off squat box

  4. Rogue Log Press component measured by total weight lifted from Shoulders Overhead for up to five repetitions

    1. Weightlifting and Powerlifting belts recommended

    2. Chalk provided

    3. No shirts or suits of any kind that aid in lifting

    4. Neoprene elbow sleeves allowed but no 2-ply or double ply elbow sleeves

    5. Neoprene knee sleeves acceptable but no knee wraps

    6. Judge will count completed reps at lockout (knees and elbows locked) ….1, 2. 3. 4, 5

    7. Must control weight to floor after repetitions, cannot “drop” log to floor

    8. This is a "Shoulder to Overhead Press", once Log is lifted to Shoulders, all reps must be completed, cannot set log down and rest, resting at shoulders is allowed

        Men's 40+   Under 200 lbs., 200+

       

        Men's 50+   Under 200 lbs., 200+

       

        Men's 60+   One Class

        Awards: 1st and 2nd place in each class

Weigh-in's first flight. 9am

Lifting start time: 10am

First Flight:  10am (60+, 50+, 40+, Women, Teen Girls)

Second Flight: Following First, approx. Noon (weigh-in’s)

 

Second Flight: Teen Boys, Men: all weight classes
